Powder River - Denver Dry Goods saddle. Fenders have tie strings to adjust leg length. All original, I do believe - the only thing that may have been replaced is the offside rope keeper strap on pommel. Not sure of age, but like me, it's from the 1900's! 40's or 50's maybe?? Made for a BARB back in the day - as seen on name plate below cantle. Underside fleece is in fabulous shape and is real. Saddle is NOT moldy, stinky or icky in any way and would be a nice deco piece in a home - or able to be rode in with some new straps and a cinch. Saddle is in pretty good shape as shown - got a Skidmore's Leather Conditioner treatment - mainly the fenders were a little stiff and dry and did respond well to the cleaning and conditioning as shown in pictures, able to be bent over seat for fender pictures. From looking at old catalogs, one thing I noticed was that this brand of saddle was more expensive than other brands of the same time - and they sure are well made and do stand the test of time! By 1894, it had again changed the name back to Denver Dry Goods, and as such, served the country well through the 1980's. Many of the ranchers, especially in the Colorado, Dakota, Kansas and Nebraska areas, grew up riding these saddles, and still do so today. Although there must be many more of these saddles still in existence, they do not come on the market as often as their competitors of the time do.
