Lightly Used 15.5 Rough out, Bear Trap, Western Saddle, Bowden Mule Tree

  
Also fits my average build quarter horses, with straighter backs, very well. Lightly used with minor signs of use. It has a 15.5 inch finished seat with a custom Bowden tree.

Cantle slots are very handy for tying things on in the mountains. Saddle has been specifically made for riding mules and horses in the mountains. I took some of the best parts of the Ericksen mule saddle, and incorporated into them into this custom saddle. A major improvement is the tree used in this saddle.

In my opinion, it is a big upgrade from the Ericksen's plastic tree. The tree is rawhide covered wood and then has an additional waterproofing coating. The tree was handmade by David Bowden of Bowden Saddlery and I actually got to watch parts of the fitting and manufacturing process. Fits my stout 14.3 mule with small Withers and a decent back. Also fits my 15 hand quarter horses that do not have a lot of rock in their back. See pictures for important measurements. Using my Custom tree, the Saddle was Custom made by Sheridan Saddlery very close to where I live. I was able to go through every detail that I wanted with the owner and he had the Saddle custom-made exactly per my requests.

5.5 Cantle, Pencil Roll. Bear trap/Form fitter style pommel. Rough out premium leather option. Britchen and crupper D Rings (5). Saddle has a nice rounded, short skirt to fit most animals.
