Outstanding example of an early Fallis balanced ride saddle with partial Columbine tooling. The 95 year old cowboy I acquired it from said he bought it in the sixties after meeting Monte Foreman. John Fallis said the saddle was more likely built around 1975. This is not a museum piece.
It's a using saddle that shows some wear from normal use but it has been well cared-for and is freshly cleaned, oiled and waxed. The seat measures about 15 inches from the the grab hole to the first stitch on the cantle and a little longer when measured from the base of the horn to the cantle. It rides like a 15 inch balanced ride. It measures about 7 inches between the conchos. Fallis uses a tree they claim fits 90%+ of all horses.
The skirt is about 26 inches long and the saddle weighs about 35 pounds as pictured. There is also an original matching Fallis breast strap and three-piece flank cinch.
The stirrups appear to be original. Fairly priced and no reserve. The item "Early Fallis balanced ride Western saddle" is in sale since Thursday, February 04, 2016.
