Custom Made Buckaroo Wade Saddle

  

Here we have a really special custom built wade saddle. Its a one of kind custom rig built by Gary Keithley for silversmith Steve Schmitt, when they worked in the same shop in Caldwell Id.

This saddle was featured in the November 1993 issue of Western Horseman. I bought this saddle from Steve a couple of years ago.

It has no less than 72 custom made pieces of silver on this saddle. Every piece of metal was overlaid with engraved silver, all custom made by Steve Schmitt. Steve and Gary are both world class sliver smiths. Their work commands top dollar. Here are the Saddle Specs.

Inlay and overlay custom padded seat. Flat plate in skirt riggin set at 7/8 position (even the riggin is engraved).

Rawhide braided Wood post horn 4 x 4 x 3 ½ high. The seat design is unique in as much as it is a combination of both inlay and overlay padding. Steve wanted this to allow him to use the saddle for reining and cow horse events (the overlay portion is in the front to help build it up). This saddle is in great condition comes with both front and rear cinches (front is nearly new mohair). If you ride this rig to the next branding youre invited to for sure you will get noticed!!
