Antique Visalia Stock Saddle Co. Humane Horse Bit Never Rust

  

Up for sale is a beautiful old California-style horse bit marked "Visalia Stock Saddle Co SF" along with "Never Rust" on the mouthpiece. This is a genuine early Visalia piece with all the character collectors look for - hand engraved cheeks, domed silver mounted conchos, old patina, and classic vaquero styling. The bit has a solid working feel to it and appears to have been used and cared for over the years rather than being a modern decorative reproduction.

The engraving throughout the cheeks and mounts is especially well done, and the aged finish gives it a great authentic look. Marked "Visalia Stock Saddle Co SF". Engraved cheek pieces and slobber bar. Large domed engraved silver mounted conchos.

Classic California vaquero / stock saddle style. From my research, this appears to date somewhere around the 1920s-1930s era.

These older Visalia bits are getting much harder to find, especially honest untouched examples with good markings and original character still intact. Condition is consistent with age and use. Shows surface wear, patina, oxidation, and age throughout as shown in photos.
