Joe Pounds Saddle Maker Circa 1914. This is such a Treasure of a Parade Saddle, Not only is it gorgeous, but a Gorgeous 104 Year old Usable Parade Saddle. If this saddle could talk what would this one say about the many parades it has been in over the years? This saddle comes with everything you see in the picture, the headstall, reins, saddle pad, breast Collar and the stand. The seat size is a 15 inch, which was pretty standard at the time.
From what we were able to research on this saddle most of the silver work was also done by Joe Pounds but don't have any way of verifying that for sure. At one point in time the breast collar must not of fit a specific horse so it was modified a bit, but all the pieces are there to put it back to its original glory, In the picture of the breast collar that is laying across the back of the saddle are the two pieces that need to be put back together. This is a very substantial saddle and the closest I can come to weighing it is 57 lbs. And with the whole thing together, stand and all it come to 82 lbs. If your looking for a one of a kind saddle to use in a parade or just want to showcase a piece of art, you need this saddle!
