Rare Barn Find: Vintage Unused Western Saddle from Southeast Kentucky This is a true "barn find" with a unique story! This western saddle has never been ridden or used on a horse. It comes from a remote part of Southeast Kentucky, where it was acquired by an old man who trades for his living by processing wild ginseng and yellow roots that locals bring him, and by building bird houses out of cedar lumber he cuts himself. The saddle was brought to him years ago in a trade and has been in dry storage in his cedar lumber barn ever since.

The saddle is dusty and the leather is very dry from its two decades in storage. It requires significant cleaning and conditioning to rehydrate the leather. Despite its appearance from being stored, it is "new old stock" without the typical wear and tear of a ridden saddle. This would make an excellent decorative piece for a rustic home or bar, or a fully functional saddle with some professional TLC.

The saddle appears to be in an equitation or barrel racing style due to its high cantle and wide swells. Key Details: Condition: Unused (New Old Stock), but dusty and the leather is dry. Scuff marks from storage are visible. Maker: No visible maker's mark found. The internal "tree" has not been inspected by a professional.

Features: Intricate floral tooling, "star" conchos, rawhide-wrapped horn and cantle, roughout/suede seat.
