The bit and main silver on the head stall is Visalia Stock Saddle Co. However the conchos down the face and buckles are stamped San Joaquin Mfg Co Oakdale Ca. This saddle was made for Joaquin Garay Born Nov. 15, 1911 Mexico State, Mexico Died September 13, 1990 Los Angeles, Ca. Garay was an actor in Hollywood, Ca in the 30's thru the 70's.
He was in such movies as, Saddle Tramp 1950, Crisis 1950 with Cary Grant, It Happened One Night 1934, and the list goes on. Garay for my grandmother, but it was before I was born in 1968. My grandparents were parade connoisseurs. They both rode in parades since my earliest memory. This saddle has been kept in what was most of the time, air tight, glass case that my grandfather had made for it. Please ask me any questions regarding the saddle and I will get right back to you.
