15 Colorado Saddlery Ranch Roper. Is this the prettiest saddle...
Is this the coolest saddle around.... Think of this saddle like the big kneed old red ranch gelding that many of us have in the pasture. Not the prettiest thing, has ugly legs, but is trust worthy and as hard working as any you'll find. This Colorado Saddlery Ranch Roper has worked for a living, and it does show. But boy, is this a heck of a work saddle. It's on a bullhide wrapped wood tree, on QH bars that measure 6.75 fitting low and wide, with moderate rock.
It will fit a horse well. This one measures 15.5", however has a really deep seat bed and higher cantle, fitting true to 15".
Has a slick seat with a wider cantle binding, and rides very securely with the deep seat bed. Free swinging fenders that have an insane amount of adjustment. Has a reinforced 3.5" x 3" post horn that is rubber wrapped. The leather horn cap has been wrenched a bit, so horn doesn't look straight, but it is.
The leather is just rough. If you're looking for a light weight saddle.... This one isn't for you. When we say heavy duty, we mean it.
This hog weighs in at 45lbs, but it's the exact saddle you want at the end of your rope. In very dark oiled leather, fully stamped in a really cool diamond pattern. This one has been gone through and its as sound as the day it was made. Comes fully rigged, has a newer set of rawhide roper stirrups and a few newer strings. When we say it's a bit ugly, we mean it. Has plenty of scuffs, scrapes, has a long spur track across the seat, minor leather cracking, but again this rig is solid. Just like that old red ranch gelding, you treat your working stock well. This one has been conditioned often, has butter soft leather, and no damage aside from cosmetic. This work horse has decades left of ride time!
Tree/Gullet: QH Bars, 6.75. Horn: 3.5" x 3".
