Gorgeous ALL BLACK LEATHER National Bridle Co. Western Gaited saddle up for sale... Includes charcoal felt (1" thick") saddle pad, black leather bridle and reins (no bit) and black leather breast collar included! All in EXCELLENT USED CONDITION. You just supply the bit (and the horse lol), and you're ready to go.Condition is EXCELLENT used condition; only flaws are a couple of slight dents in seat, a scratch on the cantle, and natural leather variations on one fender/stirrup (I have taken close-ups showing this variation). Has aluminum stirrups and lots of ties/D rings for all your gear. This saddle was used on both a gaited spotted saddle horse and a baroque Friesian/Morgan cross who moved like a gaited horse.
It is very light (approx 23 lbs) and easy to handle; looks great on and with its memory foam seat, it feels great too. For pictures of the pad, bridle/reins and breast collar, please message me. I though it was more important to show the saddle in all 12 photos than the rest of the tack but I will change that if I get lots of requests. NOTE: I forgot to add that a girth is also included in this bundle! The gullet at its narrowest point measures about 6. It varies where you measure it due to flared front points on the tree, but this measurement is from concho to concho, only from the underside of the saddle. More details for your consideration from National Bridle.
The tree is built to fit the average gaited horse breeds such as the Tennessee Walking Horse, Racking Horse, Spotted Saddle Horse, Missouri Fox Trotter and Mountain Horses. The tree has an extra high Gullet to accommodate the high withers and freedom of movement in the neck. The bars are cut at the proper angle for the average saddle pocket ensuring a positive fit. The bars are also flared at the (front) points to accommodate the movement of the gaited breeds. The flared tree points may be kind of hard to visualize...I added the word (front) in the description above in hopes that it helps. It's like if you could see through the top of the saddle to the tree, the tree opens up to more of a V-shape in the front, rather than just running parallel along the horse's spine, for the whole length of the tree. I used on a very broad-backed, mutton-withered Morgan/Friesian cross and even with the flared points, it sat on top of his back rather than settling down around his withers. I specifically bought it to fit his wide back :D. The length of saddle at its longest points is 24.5.
My horse was particularly Baroque and up-headed, with a short back, so this saddle fit him very well. Let me know your additional questions and I will answer to the best of my ability. The tree's points must flare more than the average tree, is what I meant to say.I'm not a saddle fitter nor saddle designer but I don't think any saddle trees run parallel to any horses' spines, do they? If they did, OUCHES for the horses! The item "National Bridle Co.
