Complete Vintage 16 Ted Flowers Western Parade Outfit/ Saddle
Recently we had a customer come to our shop and he was looking to sell his saddle. This gentleman had owned this particular saddle for over 40 years and it had just been a show piece in his office.
We were shocked when we discovered the saddle he wanted to sell was this vintage Ted Flowers parade saddle. Used in the Rose Bowl and the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade these were the saddle to have. Actors like Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey also used them both on and off-screen.
This saddle we believe has never been on a horse or ridden in for that matter. It has a 16 inch smooth leather seat. It is tooled with the classic floral pattern. As you can see this saddle comes ready to ride as we have included the entire package minus the reins.The leather on this saddle is not dry or cracked but clean, soft and flexible. The genuine sheepskin lining has NO holes or wear spots and is clean.
A matching Corona pad is included. The tapaderos have a metal bound wooden stirrup in them. Overall measurements for the taps are 18" long, 9" deep and 6 1/2 wide.Each zerapie measure 12 inches wide and 36 inches long. It does have a matching breast collar and bridle as you can see from the pictures. The bridle does have an aluminum bit in it. The chains are not broken and everything is intact.
The stirrup leathers have not been cut or altered in anyway. The tree is ROCK solid. Overall skirt length is 27 inches. There are just a few minor things we must point out: one of the caps on the pommel has a dent. There is a diamond missing on one tapadero and one on the fender. This saddle is as clean as they come and you will not be disappointed. We welcome any questions you may have.Read and Trust our FEEDBACK.
